Millions in local investment boosting Preble County community

LEWISBURG, Ohio (WDTN) — A community known for its farmland is seeing some changes after millions of dollars in economic growth.
Both small and large businesses are growing Preble County, creating a demand for housing as people arrive in the area for work. For some villages like Lewisburg, this growth is unprecedented.
Royal Canin opens new $450M facility in Preble County
“Lewisburg used to be a spot where you would just drive through. You wouldn’t look to the left or the right, you would just drive straight through,” said Lori Pheanis, 1893 Storehouse Co. owner.
Historically, most of Preble County has been farmland, but thanks to local investment, shops have been sprouting up across areas like Lewisburg.
Owners of local businesses are seeing the change firsthand.
“Great things that are happening in downtown Lewisburg,” said Pheanis. “I think all of it, the revitalization, is a great thing. People love it.”
